Yellow Sticker Food App Alerts In Your Local Store

Olio food waste app

The waste-reducing app, Olio, has introduced an exciting new ‘deals’ section.

Find Yellow Sticker Items

Within this section, users can discover yellow sticker items available at participating supermarkets, including Co-op, Spar, Budgens, and Morrisons Daily.

How to Snag a Bargain

1. Explore the Deals Section: Head to the ‘deals’ section under ‘food’ to see what's on offer near you.

2. Add to Your Watchlist: Add any items of interest to your watchlist to monitor their availability.

3. Visit the Store: Go to the store to pick up the yellow sticker items you’ve found.

About Olio

Olio is a waste-reducing app that allows you to pick up and share food and household items within your local community. The app, which is free to use, promotes community spirit by encouraging neighbours to share and connect.

New Features

Previously, everything on Olio was free, but in 2023, the app introduced a selling feature. Now, you can make money by selling items you no longer need and save money by purchasing secondhand goods.

What Can You Get?

The items available depend on what your neighbours are offering. You can set your travel distance from 0.3 miles to 16 miles and sort items by newest or closest.

Request Items: If you see something you want for free, click ‘request this’ and arrange collection via message.

Buy Items: For items being sold, the price is displayed in the top left corner of the image. You can use the message function to negotiate if needed.

Borrowing Items

Olio also offers a borrowing feature, allowing neighbours to lend items that can be returned after use. This is perfect for things like fancy dress outfits or expensive DIY tools that you only need occasionally.

For higher-value items, lenders might set borrower criteria, such as only lending to people with at least a few previous borrows and a rating of 4 stars or above.
